Given my
lukewarm reaction to Little Women, I was a bit hesitant about March,
even though I've liked Geraldine Brooks' other novels. March, however,
quickly caught my attention and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Mr. March is such an obscure character in Little Women; it was a pleasure to see him as an idealistic, passionate youth. It was also refreshing to see Mrs. March as a real, flawed person given to furious outbursts and headstrong actions. I can see why this novel won the Pulizer. |
